Qabala District

Qabala District spans northern Azerbaijan between the southern slopes of the Great Caucasus and the Alazan-Haftaran valley. The landscape features high mountain ranges, deep river valleys, and terrain that transitions from mountainous peaks to flat lowlands.

The ancient city of Gabala within the district served as a major power center from the 4th century BC and functioned as a capital during key periods. Archaeological remains reveal that this site remained an important trading hub across many centuries.

The annual music festival draws performers from across the world who stage classical and jazz concerts in outdoor venues throughout the region.
