Ganjlik park, Public park in Xətai district, Baku, Azerbaijan
Ganjlik sits in the Xətai district of Baku and offers a sprawling green space with manicured lawns, paved paths and shade trees. The layout connects several zones for sports, play and rest through wide pedestrian walkways.
The grounds opened in 2010 as part of a wider urban renewal program for Baku. Its founding came during a period when several new leisure spaces appeared across the city.
The name comes from the Azerbaijani word for youth and reflects how people of all ages use the space openly throughout the day. Families meet here on weekends for picnics while runners use the fitness equipment and children climb on the playgrounds.
The green space lies within walking distance of Ganjlik Mall, which makes access to restrooms and restaurants straightforward. Paths are mostly level and easy for strollers or wheelchairs, especially along the main routes.
A series of fountains runs at night with illuminated water displays that draw crowds especially on warm summer evenings. Some of the benches are arranged in geometric patterns that echo traditional Azerbaijani carpet designs.
