Nizami Park, Public garden in Xətai district, Baku, Azerbaijan.
Nizami Park is a public garden spanning approximately 13.6 hectares, featuring two fountain complexes, modern lighting, and an artificial lake. The grounds include walking paths, seating areas, and sports facilities for visitors of different ages.
The site was established in 1882 as Luna Park near Villa Petrolea, a residential development the Nobel brothers created for their workers. This settlement grew in an industrial area of the city.
The park is named for Nizami Ganjavi, a medieval poet whose works shaped Persian and regional literary traditions. Locals gather here to connect with these roots while enjoying green spaces within the city.
The park is easy to walk through and has plenty of seating and play areas for children. Its proximity to Khatai Metro Station makes visiting simple and convenient for residents and tourists.
An amphitheater and summer cinema from 1938 still stand on the grounds, offering visitors a glimpse of how entertainment once took place here. These structures remain valued by the community today.
