During the Bosnian War from 1992 to 1995, the premises served as a detention facility before being converted into a hotel and medical center.

The center derives its name from an endemic fern species, Adiantum Capillus Veneris, which grows near the thermal water sources in this region.

The location utilizes radon thermal water treatments, sourced from springs that contain mineral water estimated to be over 38,000 years old.
