Jain Temple of Antwerp

The white marble temple spans 1,000 square meters and contains ornate altars dedicated to Jain Tirthankaras with detailed murals and intricate carvings throughout the structure.

Construction of this temple started in 1990 in India, with each component crafted there before being transported piece by piece to the port of Antwerp.

The temple stands as the largest Jain religious structure outside India, built by Antwerp's Jain community of 400 families connected to the diamond industry.

Visitors must remove shoes, cover arms and shoulders, avoid silk or leather garments, and refrain from taking photographs inside the temple premises.

The structure incorporates floor heating systems and weather-adapted architectural elements while maintaining traditional Jain temple design principles.
