Domaine de Mariemont

Domaine de Mariemont is a castle park spanning 45 hectares with landscaped gardens containing diverse plant species, statues, and architectural elements. The grounds include multiple historical buildings connected by pathways that guide visitors through this mix of nature and structures.

Queen Maria of Hungary founded the estate in the 16th century as a hunting lodge. It later served as a residence for governors of the Habsburg Netherlands and underwent various transformations over time.

The Royal Museum within the domain displays collections from ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome housed in buildings throughout the grounds. Visitors encounter these ancient works while walking through the park and exploring different exhibition spaces.

The domain offers guided tours and educational programs designed for visitors with different accessibility needs, including services for those with visual or hearing requirements.
