Kasteel van Nieuwenhoven

The château features brick structures arranged around a central courtyard with a gatehouse in the north wing and two towers flanking the east wing.

Originally built as a summer residence for Sint-Trudo Abbey abbots, the château was fortified in 1329 and became their permanent residence in the 18th century.

The castle's architecture evolved from medieval fortifications to neoclassical designs, reflecting Belgian architectural trends through different periods of construction and renovation.

The property now functions as both residential units and a public activity center, following its division after the de Moffarts family sold the estate in 2007.

The castle grounds maintain a 19th-century English landscape garden layout with ancient forests and a decorative pond positioned on the southern side.
