Art Museum Z33, Contemporary art museum in Hasselt, Belgium
Z33 occupies a historic complex with a new extension featuring a diamond-shaped brick exterior that includes 34,494 handmade bricks across 60 meters.
The institution evolved from PCBK in 2002 and expanded in 2020 with a new building called Vleugel 19, designed by architect Francesca Torzo.
The museum presents temporary exhibitions connecting art, design, and architecture through thematic projects addressing current social themes and scientific partnerships.
The exhibition space spans two floors across 900 square meters, with a ground floor elevated one meter above street level for garden visibility.
The facade contains minimal openings in its brick wall, creating a protective barrier that captures shadows and movements from the street environment.
