Museum van het Belgisch Trekpaard

The Museum van het Belgisch Trekpaard occupies a former town hall and displays the history of this strong horse breed through exhibition panels, interactive screens, and historical films. Philippe van Dixhoorn, a descendant of a stud farm family, founded the museum to preserve the heritage of this horse breed in Belgian agriculture. The museum documents how these animals shaped farming practices from the 1800s until modern times.

The museum opens from March through October, with regular Sunday hours from 13:30 to 17:00, and group tours are available by advance request. Visitors should check ahead to learn about any special events or guided tours scheduled during their visit.

The museum sits at the start of the Brillant walking trail, a path of about 3.5 kilometers through the countryside. Along this route, visitors can watch living horses of the breed grazing in pastures and going about their daily lives.
