Reux Castle, Medieval castle in Conjoux, Belgium
The stone castle features traditional architectural elements with high walls, ornate details, and a surrounding Victorian-style park spanning multiple hectares.
Engineer Jules Goffinet initiated the construction of the castle between 1909 and 1910, following his acquisition of the 179-hectare estate from Baron Ludovic Moncheur.
The castle stands as a representation of early 20th-century Belgian architecture, incorporating design elements from Victorian England in its surrounding gardens.
The castle grounds maintain extensive walking paths through the gardens, allowing visitors to explore the architectural and natural features of the estate.
The construction involved two different architects, with Octave Flanneau taking over the project after the death of initial architect Edouard Van Gheluwe.
