Park van Brasschaat, Protected castle estate with park and farmhouse in Brasschaat, Belgium.
Park van Brasschaat is a 170-hectare estate featuring a U-shaped castle with mansard roofs and refined architectural elements. The grounds include ponds, fountains, a rose garden, and a farmhouse structure.
The estate grew from three farms, with the Helhoeve originating from 1602, before Count Auguste Reusens acquired it in 1864. He then commissioned the construction of the current castle and redesigned the grounds.
The castle has served as a social hub for celebrations and gatherings since its creation. Today its multiple halls host weddings, exhibitions, and local events, maintaining its role as a center for community life.
The park is accessible for walking and exploring its various garden areas at a comfortable pace. Visitors should allow time to view both the structures and the landscaped features throughout the grounds.
The grounds feature two Italian artworks: an 1885 obelisk and an 1841 column, both imported by Count Armand Reusens. These European art objects add an international artistic layer to the park's character.
