Hof ter Saksen

The stone castle sits within a 13.5-hectare park containing an arboretum with 4,500 plant species and a 3-hectare fruit orchard with 234 trees.

The medieval farm and hostel site transformed into an 18th-century castle, known through time as Het Schaak, Het Goed Schaeckx, and Saeckx before becoming Hof ter Saksen.

The castle grounds feature a sensory garden, medieval plant collection honoring Joos Vijd, and nature areas representing traditional Waasland landscape elements.

The park welcomes visitors daily from March through October between 10:00 and 20:00, and from November through February between 10:00 and 16:30.

The Orangerie functions as a cafeteria serving apple juice made from fruits grown in the estate's orchard during spring and summer months.
