Ice Mountain, Indoor ski slope in Comines-Warneton, Belgium
Ice Mountain is an indoor ski facility in Comines-Warneton, Belgium, with two covered slopes of different lengths inside a large hall. The venue also has a free-fall simulator and a paintball area, all open year-round.
The facility was built to bring year-round skiing to the Walloon region without depending on natural snowfall. It was one of the first projects of its kind in Belgium and changed how people in the area could access winter sports.
The on-site restaurant serves Belgian specialties like raclette and grilled dishes that visitors can enjoy between activities. This mix of winter sports and local food makes it a social spot for families and groups from the surrounding area.
All necessary equipment, including skis, boots, and winter clothing, can be rented on-site, so there is no need to bring your own gear. The slopes are open to beginners since there are no steep sections or technical demands.
The free-fall simulator on-site produces wind speeds that mimic the feeling of a real skydive, without the need to board a plane. This experience can be booked separately from the ski slopes and draws visitors who have no interest in skiing at all.
