Château de Ronchinne, 19th-century castle in Assesse, Belgium
Château de Ronchinne is a 19th-century castle situated on the northern slope of the Crupet valley, surrounded by about 42 hectares of landscaped gardens. The estate spreads between the localities of Ivoy and Mont and includes multiple buildings alongside the main structure, creating a complex set of accommodations and facilities.
The castle was constructed between 1884 and 1890 for notary Charles-Joseph Logé according to plans by architect Théodore Semaille. It later served as a residence for Princess Clémentine of Belgium, a period that lasted until 1945.
The gardens blend formal design elements with natural landscapes, guiding visitors through carefully composed spaces as they explore. These areas reveal how the estate has been shaped to balance human design with its natural setting.
The property operates as a hotel with 81 rooms distributed across different buildings, including the main castle and the Gardener's House. Visitors will find modern amenities such as heated outdoor pools and saunas available on the grounds for relaxation.
The estate offers specialized accommodation options such as Loft Cubes and elevated cabins that differ from standard hotel rooms. These unconventional lodgings allow guests to experience the grounds in a different way compared to those staying in the classical rooms of the main buildings.
