The Mound of Brotherhood features two bronze sculptures of partisan fighters standing before a 41-meter high granite obelisk in Sofia's largest park.
Constructed in 1956, this memorial complex contains the remains of 17 partisan fighters from the Bulgarian Communist Party who died during World War II.
The monument's reliefs illustrate the Bulgarian people's struggles, including scenes of the Soviet Army arrival and the September 1944 political changes.
