Razgrad Province

Razgrad Province covers 2,639 square kilometers and contains seven municipalities, including Razgrad, Kubrat, Isperih, Zavet, Loznitsa, Tsar Kaloyan, and Samuil.

The province encompasses the ancient Roman settlement of Abritus, where the Battle of Abrittus in 251 AD marked the first defeat of a Roman emperor by barbarian forces.

The province maintains a diverse population distribution with Turkish residents comprising fifty percent, Bulgarian residents forty-three percent, and Romani communities five percent.

Located at an elevation of 284 meters, the province connects major Bulgarian cities through an extensive network of roads and municipal transportation systems.

The region houses the Ibrahim Pasha Mosque from 1530, measuring among the largest Islamic structures across the Balkan peninsula.
