Shan kaya

It was believed that the name of the object, translated from Turkish, meant "respected / revered rock," but the only inhabitant of the village confirms that its name in the local Turkish dialect is "Shahankaya" - the bird rock, which is related to the local falcon that nested on the rock. To get to Shahankaya, you can take a bus or drive from Krumovgrad. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive, you will be greeted by the stunning natural beauty of the area. The rock formation is surrounded by lush greenery and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. As you explore the site, you will notice the intricate carvings on the rock surface. These trapezoidal niches were likely used for offerings and rituals during ancient times. You can also climb to the top of the rock formation to get a panoramic view of the area.
