Kleptuza

The Kleptuza spring produces clear water with a constant temperature of 8.1°C and a flow capacity between 270 and 1020 liters per second.

Local residents transformed the natural spring system in 1937 by creating two artificial lakes to contain the waters that previously flowed into Chepinska River.

The Saint Elija chapel stands within the protected territory, constructed on what researchers identify as an ancient Thracian ceremonial location.

The 412-hectare protected area contains marked paths through forests where visitors can observe numerous plant species and wildlife throughout the seasons.

The territory marks the only location in Bulgaria where the 24th parallel intersects with the 42nd meridian, creating a geographic reference point.
