Myory

Myory is the administrative center of Myory District in Vitebsk Region, located in northeastern Belarus. The area is characterized by numerous rivers and lakes scattered across the landscape, forming a network of waterways throughout the district.

The settlement was first recorded in the early 16th century as a trading post in the region. The area experienced wartime occupation during the Second World War, which fundamentally altered its subsequent development.

The town takes its name from an old settlement and functions today as a district administrative center. Local life follows Belarusian traditions visible in how the community organizes itself and interacts daily.

The area experiences a continental climate with distinct seasons and relatively cold winters. Visitors should plan their trips during warmer months when the lakes and rivers are more accessible for exploration.
