Lida, Administrative center in Grodno Region, Belarus
Lida is a regional center in western Belarus that serves around 104,000 residents across nearly 46 square kilometers. The town combines housing areas with industrial sections and administrative buildings.
In 1323, Grand Duke Gediminas ordered the construction of a fortress to protect the western borders. Over the following centuries, the area changed hands several times between Lithuanian and Polish rule.
