St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Grodno

St. Francis Xavier Cathedral is a brick structure in Baroque style measuring 60 meters long and 30 meters wide, topped by two towers that rise above Grodno's skyline. The interior contains thirteen altars and houses numerous sacred artworks spanning different periods.

Construction began in 1678 under Jesuit supervision, with the first Mass celebrated in 1700. The building received its final consecration in 1705, completing this major religious project.

The cathedral serves as the spiritual heart of the Catholic community in Grodno, hosting pilgrimages and religious ceremonies throughout the year. Visitors encounter a space that reflects centuries of devotion through its multiple altars and sacred art.
