Belarusian scientists calculated the position during the 2000s based on measurements of continental boundaries and inland waters. Russian geodesists later confirmed the calculations and the result was officially recognized.

Access is via Highway H09 from the nearby town of Kruhly, with directional signs guiding the way to the location. Entry is generally open, though visitors should bring footwear suitable for unpaved forest paths.
