Sevastopol Park

Sevastopol Park is a green space in eastern Minsk that spans several hectares between Slavinsky, Kedyshko, Sevastopolskaya, and Logoysky Trakt streets. It features multiple walking paths and open areas arranged in different zones for various recreational uses.

The park was established in 1954 as part of Minsk's post-World War II reconstruction program that created green spaces across the city. Many parks were developed during this period to provide growing urban areas with recreational spaces.

The park takes its name from Sevastopol, a city in Crimea, reflecting connections between regions of the former Soviet Union that were meaningful during Soviet urban planning. This naming choice shows how cities honored distant places through their public spaces.

The park is easily accessible through Vostok metro station and has multiple entrances leading to the walking paths inside. It is best explored on foot, so wearing comfortable shoes is advisable for moving between the different areas.

The layout follows Soviet landscape architecture principles with symmetrical designs and clearly defined recreational zones that were typical of parks built during this era. This structured approach remains visible in how the different areas are organized today.
