Bishops palace in Mahilioŭ

The Bishops Palace in Mahilioŭ is a Baroque building with richly decorated facades, expansive halls, and elegant window frames. The property maintains its original exterior with garden areas that fully demonstrate the Baroque design principles.

The building was constructed between 1762 and 1785 under architect Johann Christoph Glaubitz as a residence for Orthodox Bishop George Konissky. It became an important symbol of church authority in the region and served as a major architectural project of that era.

The palace demonstrates how bishops displayed their authority through grand reception spaces where religious and administrative matters took place. The arrangement of rooms reflects the hierarchy that existed within the church hierarchy of that era.
