Church of the Holy Trinity in Gierviaty

The Church of the Holy Trinity in Gierviaty is a Catholic place of worship built in Gothic Revival style with three naves divided by columns and solid stone walls. The structure creates a striking silhouette that defines the village skyline.

A wooden church was founded on this site in 1526 and underwent several reconstructions over the centuries. The current stone structure was completed in 1903 under architect Aleksey Polozov's design.

The church continues to serve the local Catholic community through regular worship and gatherings that sustain its spiritual role. It stands as a living part of village life rather than merely a historical monument.

The church sits in the village center and is easily accessible on foot once you arrive in Gierviaty. Visitors can walk through the building during daylight hours, though worshippers gather for services at set times.

During construction, villagers contributed chicken eggs to strengthen the limestone mixture used in the walls. This unusual practice from the early 1900s reflects how the whole community worked together to build their church.
