Kojdanaŭ Castle

Kojdanaŭ Castle is a medieval fortress with a square layout and four corner towers that displays both Gothic and traditional defensive construction techniques. The structure blends earlier protective elements with architectural details added in later periods.

The fortress originated in the Middle Ages as a defensive structure and was substantially rebuilt in the 19th century under Count Wojciech Puslowski. This transformation resulted in a blend of medieval fortification features with contemporary design elements.

The castle served as a refuge for local nobles and merchants during difficult times. Today, exhibits on the grounds show how these families shaped life in the region.

The grounds are accessible to visitors on most days, with guided tours helping explain the architecture and past renovations. It is recommended to bring appropriate footwear, as paths around the structures can be uneven.

The towers contain specialized chambers designed to maintain consistent temperature throughout the seasons. This early climate control system shows how builders wanted to create comfortable living conditions.
