Sainte-Thérèse, Suburban municipality in Thérèse-De Blainville, Quebec, Canada.
Sainte-Thérèse is a residential community located northwest of Montreal, integrated into the greater Thérèse-De Blainville region. The municipality spreads across several neighborhoods connected by the Montreal-Laurentian Autoroute to nearby metropolitan centers.
The parish was established in 1789 in honor of Thérèse de Blainville, daughter of the seigneur who began distributing land grants around 1730. These early land distributions formed the foundation for the town's settlement pattern.
The community became known for musical instrument craftsmanship when Joseph Casavant established his piano and pipe organ manufacturing business in 1825. This tradition shaped the town's character and attracted skilled artisans dedicated to their craft.
The Sainte-Thérèse train station provides connections to Montreal through the Exo Saint-Jérôme line, while CIT Laurentides offers local bus routes. These transportation links make it convenient for residents to reach the city and surrounding areas.
The area developed into a manufacturing hub where Sicard Industries produced snow blowers and Paccar operated a truck plant building Kenworth and Peterbilt vehicles. These industrial operations shaped the town's economic growth throughout the 20th century.
