La Malbaie, Historic town on the north shore of Saint Lawrence River, Canada
La Malbaie covers 471 square kilometers between the Charlevoix-Est region mountains and the Saint Lawrence River, hosting over 8,000 residents.
French explorer Samuel de Champlain named the area Malle Baye in 1605 when he found no suitable anchorage for ships.
The town maintains strong culinary traditions with local products, artisanal cheeses, and pastries that represent authentic Quebec cuisine.
Mont Grand-Fonds ski area features 335 meters of vertical drop, 140 kilometers of cross-country trails, and 41 kilometers of snowshoe paths.
The Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu, first built in 1899 and reconstructed in 1929 after a fire, served as the venue for the 2018 G7 Summit.
