Grand Falls-Windsor is a town in Newfoundland and Labrador situated in the interior of the island. The town was formed by merging two neighboring communities and features a mix of residential areas, local shops, and parks along the Exploits River.
The town was established in the early 1900s as the center of the region's paper industry. The two communities of Grand Falls and Windsor merged in 1991 to form the administrative hub it is today.
The town is straightforward to navigate and offers basic visitor amenities including accommodations, restaurants, and shops concentrated in the downtown area. Summer and early fall are the best times to visit when weather is mild and river trail opportunities are readily available.
