Allan's Mill

Allan's Mill is a restored stone building on the banks of Speed River featuring Scottish architecture with cylindrical turrets. The facility houses copper stills from Scotland and operates today as a distillery producing gin and vodka.

The site started in 1830 as a wooden mill for the Canada Company but was replaced by a stone building in 1850 and later expanded for distilling. This shift transformed it into a major production site in the region.

The bar inside offers visitors a place to learn about craft production methods and sample locally made spirits. Here you can see how traditional handwork and modern distilling come together.

The distillery offers guided tours through the facility where you can learn about the production process. The site sits by the river and is easy to reach, with tasting options available on-site.

The facility employs Canada's only master cooper who maintains wooden barrels using traditional techniques. This specialized craft is essential for whisky production and is preserved here.
