The Guelph Civic Museum occupies a renovated building at 52 Norfolk Street, featuring multiple exhibition spaces across several floors dedicated to regional heritage.
The museum began operations in 1967 at the Winter Fair Horse Stables before relocating to Dublin Street South in 1980 and finally to its current Norfolk Street location.
The institution maintains a collection of 40,000 artifacts, including photographs, furniture, textiles, and decorative arts that represent the development of Guelph throughout generations.
Visitors can explore the museum Tuesday through Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM, with extended hours until 9 PM on the fourth Friday of each month.
The museum grounds feature a bronze sculpture of Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, who wrote the poem 'In Flanders Fields' during World War I.
