Seaway International Bridge

The Seaway International Bridge connects Cornwall, Ontario with Akwesasne and Massena, New York through a dual-bridge system across the St. Lawrence River.

The bridge commenced operations in 1962 and underwent major reconstruction in 2014, when the North Channel section was replaced with a lower-level crossing.

The Three Nations Crossing name recognizes the Akwesasne Mohawk Territory that extends across both Canadian and American borders at this location.

Travelers can purchase a Seaway Transit Card at tollbooths to receive a 10 percent discount on crossing fees and avoid carrying cash.

The structure incorporates 7,300 tons of concrete for the deck, 34,000 tons for the piers, and required 32,000 gallons of paint during construction.
