Shubie Park, Urban park in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
This 16-hectare forest park features extensive trails along Lake Micmac and Lake Charles, offering walking and cycling paths through dense vegetation.
The land began as a King's wood lot in 1722, providing masts for the Royal Navy before becoming the first royal land grant in Dartmouth.
The Fairbanks Centre within the park presents exhibits about the Shubenacadie Canal system, displaying scale models of historic lock mechanisms.
The park includes 101 camping sites, divided between 29 unserviced and 72 serviced spots, open from May through the summer season.
The park contains a section of the abandoned Shubenacadie Canal, which once connected Halifax Harbour to the Bay of Fundy through an inland waterway.
