Graduate House, University of Toronto, Student residence in Old Toronto, Canada
Graduate House is a ten-story residence for master's and doctoral students at the University of Toronto, containing furnished apartments and communal areas. Integrated study spaces are built throughout the building for academic work.
Graduate House was created to meet growing demand for graduate student housing at the University of Toronto. The project changed how the institution approached accommodation for advanced degree students.
The residence brings together graduate students from around the world, who meet through events and shared spaces that reflect their diverse backgrounds. This international mix shapes daily life in the building.
Residents pay one rent that covers utilities, internet, maintenance, and all furnishings in their units. A pedestrian bridge connects this building to Harbord Residence next door, making access to additional amenities easy.
The building has no separate main entrance but is fully connected to neighboring Harbord Residence through its bridge. This merger of two residences creates an unusual approach to graduate housing on campus.
