Terrasses de la Chaudière

Terrasses de la Chaudière is a high-rise complex in Gatineau featuring three towers, with one reaching 124 meters and ranking among the tallest buildings in the National Capital Region. The project spans over 160,000 square feet and houses multiple federal government departments.

The project began in 1978 as part of a federal initiative to expand Canadian government presence on the Quebec side of the Ottawa River. This expansion was part of a wider strategy to distribute administrative functions across provincial boundaries.

The complex features wood elements in its design that echo Gatineau's past as a lumber industry hub. This material choice ties the building to the area's traditional craft heritage.
