Yarmouth County Museum & Archives

Yarmouth County Museum & Archives occupies a former granite church building dating from 1892 and presents collections about the region's history. The building features two historic houses with different exhibition spaces and an archival research center housed in an extension called the Abram Little House.

The museum was founded in 1935 by the Yarmouth County Historical Society and officially opened in 1958 at its current location. This development reflects the growing desire to preserve and share the region's stories and artifacts with future generations.

The museum tells the story of maritime life and shows how communities developed across generations in this region. Visitors can see how this past comes alive through the objects on display.
