LSPU Hall

LSPU Hall on Victoria Street is a clubhouse and performance venue housed in a wooden structure with a gable roof and ornamental exposed rafter ends. The building now functions as a center for theatrical and artistic presentations in downtown St. John's.

The building stands on the site of Newfoundland's first Congregationalist Church, established in 1789. It was reconstructed multiple times following major fires that occurred throughout the 19th and 20th centuries.

The hall hosts the Resource Centre for the Arts, which regularly presents theater, film, and music events to the community. These performances shape the cultural life of downtown St. John's and draw people from across the region.
