Indian River Reptile Zoo, zoo in Indian River, Ontario
Indian River Reptile Zoo is a facility in Asphodel-Norwood housing over 400 live reptiles such as snakes, turtles, and crocodiles in designed habitats. The site also features more than 100 animatronic dinosaur figures, an 18-hole mini-golf course, the Feathers & Fossils museum, and a fossil dig area for visitors.
This facility was established in 1999 as a nonprofit organization to care for rescued reptiles and educate the public. Since then, it has grown to include more animals and exhibits while maintaining its focus on conservation and education.
The location is easy to find and has parking nearby, making it a convenient visit for families. Some attractions such as mini-golf and special exhibits may require small fees, while entry to the main facility is free.
The Croc-Walk exhibit is said to be Canada's largest collection of crocodiles, alligators, and caimans. Visitors can watch these large animals move and bask in the sun.
