Chutes-Dorwin Park, Natural park with waterfall in Rawdon, Canada.
Chutes-Dorwin Park is a natural area with trails and observation decks overlooking the Ouareau River waterfalls near Rawdon. About 3 kilometers of paths wind through forest, connecting several viewpoints where you can see the cascading water and the river below.
This site developed over the 20th century as a protected natural area, with old-growth forest that has framed the valley for many generations. The park was gradually opened to visitors so people could experience the waterfalls and the river ecosystem directly.
Local people know the rock formation near the falls as a profile tied to First Nations stories, and this connection shapes how many experience the place. Walking through the park, you can sense this layer of meaning in the landscape itself.
The park entrance is located at 1re Avenue with parking, restrooms, drinking water, and picnic areas where grilling is allowed. The trails are well marked, but wear good walking shoes and be careful on wet or slippery ground, especially near the observation decks.
During winter, the water freezes into natural ice sculptures against the rock face that look different each season. These formations happen entirely on their own and create something you will not see in warmer months.
