Victoria Hall

Victoria Hall is a three-story town hall and multipurpose venue in Cobourg featuring neoclassical architecture distinguished by a central clock tower, Corinthian columns, and sandstone imported from Cleveland. The building contains spaces for municipal administration, performances, weddings, corporate gatherings, and community events with modern accessibility features.

The Prince of Wales inaugurated this municipal building in 1860 when Cobourg anticipated becoming the capital of Upper Canada. The courthouse within followed the design of London's Old Bailey and operated until its closure in 2008.

The Grand Concert Hall preserves its original acoustic design and features hand-painted decorations that echo the courthouse's aesthetic choices. You can see these details during performances and events, where the space continues to serve as a gathering place for the community.
