Reinach is a municipality in the Basel-Country region of northern Switzerland, situated at around 304 meters in elevation. The settlement spreads across several square kilometers and forms part of the metropolitan area surrounding Basel.
The settlement was first documented as Rinacho between 1168 and 1176, beginning as an agricultural community in the region. Over time, it gradually developed into a structured municipality within Basel-Country canton.
