Oerliker Park, Modern urban park in Oerlikon, Switzerland

Oerliker Park is a 17,500 m² public park in Oerlikon, split by Birchstrasse. Its eastern half holds a blue concrete observation tower with a steel staircase spiralling to a 35-metre platform, a gravel field with winding paths, and a chess area. The western half has a long turquoise fountain, a red pavilion and play equipment for small children.

The park was created in 2001 as part of a city development project that transformed former industrial land into public green space. This marked the start of a major redesign of the neighborhood with several new parks.

The park takes its name from the Oerlikon neighborhood and reflects how a former industrial area has become a gathering place for the community. Visitors use the space for leisure and social activities today.

The Birchstrasse divides the park into two halves: the east side holds the 35-metre blue tower, a gravel field with winding paths, charcoal grills, chess and table tennis; the west side has play equipment for small children, a wooden deck and a long fountain. Drinking fountains and seating are on both sides.

The observation platform allows visitors to look out above the tree canopy and gain an unexpected perspective on the neighborhood. This vertical vantage point connects the park's green surroundings with views of the city beyond.
