Uznaburg castle ruins

Uznaburg castle is a ruin on a hilltop near Uznach, with surviving wall segments and a square tower foundation still visible. The remains show how medieval fortifications were built in this region.

The castle was built around 1200 and was destroyed about 70 years later when a military invasion conquered the site. This event marked the end of local family rule over the location.
