Nollen

Nollen is a mountain summit in Thurgau reaching 735 meters, from which you can see across Lake Constance, the Alps, and the Hegau region. The area is accessible via multiple hiking trails, with a restaurant located at the top.

The name comes from Old High German words 'hnol' or 'chnol', referring to the mountain's bulbous or tuber-like shape. In the 1800s, it served as a triangulation point for surveying and mapping the surrounding landscape.

The summit represents a meaningful landmark for the region, serving as a focal point for local recreational life and regional connection to the Swiss mountain landscape. Residents use this location for outings and family activities throughout the year.

Multiple hiking trails approach the summit from different directions, allowing visitors to choose routes based on their fitness level and preferences. The restaurant at the top provides a place to rest and enjoy the views during or after your hike.

A small ski lift has operated on the northern slope since 1975, making the mountain accessible even during winter months. A barefoot walking path near the top lets visitors experience the ground and vegetation in a sensory way that regular hiking does not offer.
