The Kantonsschule Wohlen is a public Kurzzeitgymnasium and Fachmittelschule on the Bünz. Five pavilion buildings and two gymnasiums were built along the river between 1965 and 1969; the much larger main building north of them followed in 1984–1988, designed by Burkard, Meyer, Steiger und Partner of Baden. Its roof structures over the entrance, central area, Mediothek and Aula are among the earliest works of Santiago Calatrava.

A teachers' seminary opened in Wohlen in 1966 as a branch of the Wettingen seminary, becoming independent in 1969; five pavilions and two gymnasiums were built along the Bünz between 1965 and 1969. A 1976 school law required primary teachers to hold a Matura, so the canton upgraded the seminary to a Kantonsschule, completed in 1980. The larger main building north of the pavilions followed in 1984–1988, designed by Burkard, Meyer, Steiger und Partner of Baden, winners against 40 competitors.

The Kantiforum, a private association with over 800 members, organises theatre, concerts, dance events and cabaret in the school's assembly hall. The school has offered French immersion classes since 1999, a first in the canton of Aargau, and bilingual English teaching since 2009. Alumni include former Federal Councillor Doris Leuthard and SRG director-general Susanne Wille.

The building is located at Allmendstrasse 26 and is best reached by foot or bicycle. Keep in mind that this is an active school facility, so access for viewing is typically possible outside regular school hours.

The roof structures above the entrance, the central area, the Mediothek and the Aula are among the earliest built works of Santiago Calatrava. The extension was planned by the Baden office Burkard, Meyer, Steiger und Partner, which won an architectural competition against 40 competitors.
