The tower opened on July 8, 2006, after local wood was harvested in 2005 and dried for one year before construction began.
The structure demonstrates Swiss commitment to wooden architecture, incorporating Douglas-fir columns and Silver fir stairs sourced from surrounding forests.
Visitors need to climb 189 steps to reach the roofed observation deck, which provides views just above the treetops at 747 meters elevation.
The tower's design features an integrated circular staircase that winds through the wooden frame, creating a harmonious connection with the forest environment.
