Museum of music automatons

The Museum of Music Automatons displays an extensive collection of Swiss cylinder and disc music boxes from the past two centuries, along with musical clocks and jewelry.

Heinrich Weiss established this institution in 1979, creating a dedicated space for preserving mechanical musical instruments and their technical innovations throughout Swiss history.

The permanent exhibition 'Switzerland - a Country of Sound Pioneers' presents the development of mechanical music through original instruments and demonstrations of their mechanisms.

Located at Bollhübel 1, the museum operates from Tuesday to Sunday between 11:00 and 18:00, with guided tours included in the admission fee of 15 Swiss francs.

The museum houses the original Britannic organ, recovered from the sister ship of the Titanic, which visitors can hear during special twenty-minute guided presentations.
