Supersaxo House

Supersaxo House is a Renaissance residential building in Sion comprising two floors connected by an Italian staircase decorated with heraldic mural paintings throughout. The structure now contains a complete model of the city and serves as a municipal office.

Georges Supersaxo commissioned the construction of this residence in 1505, initiating a significant architectural legacy in the Valais region. The building evolved over centuries, with the second floor receiving an important expansion in the form of Solives Hall, which preserved Renaissance design elements.

The festivities hall ceiling displays intricate artwork by Jacobinus Malacrida with a central rosette depicting the Nativity scene. These artistic details reflect the wealth and cultural ambitions of the family who used this space for important gatherings.
