Maison de la Paix, Academic building in Geneva, Switzerland
The Maison de la Paix features six connected sections designed to resemble petals, creating a flowing architectural form near Lake Geneva.
Inaugurated in 2013 by former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, the building represents Switzerland's commitment to international diplomacy and education.
The structure houses the Graduate Institute of International Studies and three Geneva centers dedicated to security, humanitarian demining, and armed forces control.
The Davis Library spans 4500 square meters across two floors, providing 330 workspaces and access to 350,000 volumes on international studies.
The building incorporates natural lighting through large atriums with skylights, making it one of the most energy-efficient structures in Western Switzerland.
