Litterna-Halle, Ice sports arena in Visp, Switzerland
The Litterna-Halle was an ice arena in Visp with standing and seating areas that held about 4,300 spectators total, with roughly 850 designated seats. It served as a venue for ice hockey matches and various sporting events.
The venue opened in 1979 and served as the home of the EHC Visp ice hockey club for over 40 years. It was demolished in 2020 following the club's final match in 2019, making way for new development.
The venue served as a gathering place where ice hockey fans and skaters from the Visp area came together for matches and recreational skating. It held an important role in the local community's social life and sports culture.
The arena sat in central Visp and was easily accessible by public transport. Arriving with extra time before matches was helpful, as parking around the venue filled up quickly during larger events.
The venue's farewell weekend featured special performances by DJ Antoine before demolition began. This celebratory event transformed the building's closure into a shared memory for the local Visp community.
